Wet Cupping

Wet cupping, a traditional therapeutic technique, involves creating small incisions on the skin and then applying suction cups to draw out a small amount of blood. This process is believed to help remove toxins, improve circulation, and relieve pain and inflammation. Often used to treat conditions like migraines, muscle tension, and arthritis, wet cupping offers a holistic approach to health.

Acupuncture & TCM

Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offer a holistic approach to health by balancing the body’s energy, known as Qi. By stimulating specific points on the body with fine needles, acupuncture promotes natural healing, pain relief, and overall wellness. TCM encompasses various practices, including herbal medicine, cupping, and dietary therapy, all tailored to address individual health needs. This ancient system focuses on treating the root causes of health issues rather than just the symptoms, providing long-term relief and enhancing overall well-being. At Creston Valley Acupuncture, our expert practitioners blend traditional wisdom with modern techniques to deliver personalized acupuncture and TCM treatments. Whether you’re seeking relief from chronic pain, stress, digestive issues, or other health concerns, our tailored approach ensures that your treatment plan aligns with your specific needs.

No Needle Treatments

No Needle Treatments offer a gentle yet effective alternative to traditional acupuncture, making them ideal for those who prefer needle-free options. These therapies utilize advanced techniques like acupressure, laser therapy, and electrotherapy to stimulate acupuncture points without the use of needles. By promoting natural healing processes, No Needle Treatments can effectively address pain, stress, and various health concerns, all while ensuring a comfortable and relaxing experience.

Does it hurt?

Acupuncture pins are just a little thinker than a human hair. They are fine, filiform, single use stainless steel and nothing at all like having a shot or bloodwork. A prick sensation may be felt upon insertion and possibly a deeper sensation that is unique to the individual, but most report acupuncture being a very relaxing experience.

What can I expect after treatment?

After treatment, you might feel relaxed, balanced, and energized. Some people experience a temporary increase in energy or a sense of deep calm. It's also common to feel tired as your body adjusts. Any symptoms being treated may feel better right away or temporarily exacerbated in the healing process. Drink plenty of water and follow any specific aftercare advice given to you.

How many treatments do I need?

The number of treatments you need can vary depending on your individual condition and health goals. Generally, a course of treatment may range from a few sessions to several weeks and typically with sessions fairly close together initially as treatments build on each other. Your practitioner will assess your progress and recommend a plan tailored to your needs.

What should I expect during treatment?

If it is your first time, you will meet with your practitioner to discuss your reasons for seeking treatment as well as further questioning to help the practitioner get a wholistic picture on any contributing factors to any symptoms you may be experiencing. Then you will receive the scheduled treatment that most find very relaxing.

How should I prepare for treatment?

To prepare for your treatment, it's best to eat a light meal 1-2 hours beforehand, wear loose, comfortable clothing, and stay hydrated. Avoid caffeine or alcohol, and try to arrive relaxed and open to the healing process. Please avoid wearing excessive makeup, lotions, oils, and scents.
